Today is March 4th. It happens to be a beautiful snowy day, with the most perfect snow to build a snowman and play outside. At least that’s what we did today!
Six years ago March Fourth marked the start of something new. A new company. A new movement.
A movement towards safer products.
Safer products for women, men & their children. For all of us.
Six years ago Gregg Renfrew launched Beautycounter. Why? To get safer products into the hands of everyone.
So, today we continue March Forth for more protective laws. To ensure that we actually KNOW the ingredients in our products and what we’re putting on our skin.
Although you may see the hashtag #betterbeauty all over the Internet, it’s not just about beauty products, it’s about ALL personal care products, from deodorant and hair gel to facewash and shaving cream. Of course, it also does include all your makeup essentials as well.
It’s not about it being all organic, or all natural. Sometimes people confuse that for meaning safe. But you see there are “natural” things that are dangerous for you, and there are synthetic things that aren’t. And in the end, you want what’s safe for you and your family.
I started with Beautycounter 4 years ago. Pretty early on in the movement. Why? Because I had just had my 2nd baby and I couldn’t find a sunscreen I liked! EVERY sunscreen either had HORRIBLE ingredients in it, or went on greasy, or didn’t rub in well. At a networking meeting, someone recommended Beautycounter. I tried it, and I loved it. I figured, if I’m going to tell all my friends about this (because I was, it was the only safe sunscreen on the market that rubbed in, believe me, I tried TONS), I might as well make some money from it.
In 4 years a lot has changed. There have been many many more products added to the line. Not only do I swear by their sunscreen, but I also LOVE their concealer pen, lip gloss, and lipstick, as well as the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion.
Have you tried anything yet? If not, why not? Start small, and change things as you run out. I’ve found that with better products you useless and they last longer. As my old products ran out I continued to switch out one thing for the next. Or, maybe you have tried it and love it? Maybe you want to take advantage of 1/2 off enrollment as a consultant through March 10? Why not earn a little bit of money by sharing something you love? Maybe you’ll have enough for your car payment, or a family vacation? Think about it. The more voices we have in the movement. The more people who educate their community, the better off we’ll all be.
My only ask is that you text BETTERBEAUTY to 52886 to urge Congress to pass more health-protective laws in the personal care industry.
It’s that easy. Will you join me?
PS. I’ll be meeting with my Congresswoman at the end of the month – I can’t wait to update you on how that meeting goes!
